Delivery Driver
Purpose
The primary function of this position is to drive a tractor trailer or straight truck and manually unload the truck using a two-wheeler or electric pallet jack. This requires safe handling of various foodstuffs (frozen, refrigerated, and dry) and providing excellent customer service. Routes may also include driving backhauls. All duties must be completed in a safe and timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations. You must be physically fit for a labor intensive job.
Description
Pre-route responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review of driver itinerary.
- Check customer invoices and compare with products that are loaded.
- Check product and ensure it's safely loaded.
- Check load temperatures, perform pre-trip safety inspections, and prepare the truck for safe driving conditions.
Route responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Drive to and deliver customer orders.
- Maintain adequate productivity rate to meet delivery schedules.
- Navigate customer's delivery sites in a safe manner.
- Unload products from the truck with a two-wheeler, by hand, or electric pallet jack and place in the customer's designated storage areas.
- Verify delivery of correct items with customer, obtain proper signatures, and collect money (cash or checks).
- Contact the office in the event of any discrepancies or problems.
- Drive backhauls from vendors and bring back to the warehouse for receiving.
- Fueling.
Post-route responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Securing the truck and performing any necessary safety checks.
- Return signed invoices and all trip documents to the office.
- Complete DOT logs.
- Unload product using electric pallet jacks or forklift.
- Preparing and picking the next days orders.
- Stack product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures (e.g. FIFO, no heavy-on-light, labels facing out, separating cold from dry, etc.)
- Ensure loads are put together in a condition that is safe for transport, such as using shrink-wrap to secure them.
- Checking customer invoices and comparing with products that are loaded.
Qualifications
Education and Training
- At Least High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Possess a valid Michigan CDL Class A or Class B with DOT qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving and delivery experience.
- Previous electric pallet jack and forklift experience.
- Experience delivering food products is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment used to perform the job in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must be able to work the scheduled times for the position. Delivery routes require early morning starts.
- Must have the ability to treat people and equipment with kindness and respect.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both inside and outside (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and ice).
- Must be able to pass a controlled substance abuse screening test.
- Must be able to safely lift 100lbs by hand. Most products are 50lbs or less, but up to 100lbs may be required. Must be able to stoop, squat, bend, twist, kneel, reach, and grasp with objects.
- Must be able to safely navigate with a loaded or unloaded two-wheeler, electric pallet jack, and forklift.
Warehouse Worker
Purpose
This position consists of two primary functions. The first is processing customer orders in the warehouse by manually selecting the correct products and palletizing them. The second is loading trucks for delivery to our customers and unloading trucks to replenish our stock. These tasks require safe handling of various foodstuffs (frozen, refrigerated, and dry). You must be able to safely navigate two-wheelers, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts in a timely manner depending on the schedule. You must be physically fit for a labor intensive job.
Description
Processing customer orders include, but are not limited to:
- Safe transit of two-wheelers, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts in a small warehouse space.
- Palletizing customer orders from pick slots using lists of assorted items.
- Stacking product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures (e.g. FIFO, no heavy-on-light, labels facing out, separating cold from dry, etc.).
- Ensuring that palletized orders are fit for delivery.
- Ensuring the correct product has been selected and is damage free.
- Notifying the office of any empty or short slots for replenishment.
Loading and unloading trucks include, but are not limited to:
- Safe transit of electric pallet jacks and forklifts in a small warehouse space.
- Organizing product space for storage and replenishment of stock.
- Checking invoices and load documents for proper receiving or shipping amounts.
- Notifying the office of any bad product.
- Organizing and loading delivery routes in proper order.
General warehouse maintenance includes, but is not limited to:
- Clearing warehouse of all debris.
- Ensuring electric pallet jacks and forklifts are charged.
- Stacking empty pallets.
- Cleaning any spills and notifying the office of damaged product.
Qualifications
Education and Training
- At Least High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Possess a valid Michigan drivers license. A valid Michigan CDL Class B with DOT qualification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year warehouse work experience.
- Minimum 1 year electric pallet jack and forklift experience.
- Experience with food products is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment used to perform the job in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must be able to work the scheduled times for the position. Warehouse hours are usually 8-4pm but may be earlier or extend that time depending on scheduling.
- Must have the ability to treat people and equipment with kindness and respect.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both inside and outside (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and ice).
- Must be able to pass a controlled substance abuse screening test.

- Must be able to read and comprehend pick lists which may be of small printed type.
- Must be able to learn the locations of product in the warehouse to become proficient in day to day tasks.
Administrative Assistant
Purpose
The primary function of this position is to assist in day-to-day office operations.
Description
Duties include, but are not limited to
- Answering phones, taking messages, and appropriately routing phone calls.
- Checking and sending emails.
- Creating or editing various documents for everyday business tasks.
- Filing Documents.
- Scanning and Faxing documents.
- Assisting in accounting and inventory controls.
Qualifications
Education and Training
- At Least High School Diploma/GED.
- Preferred associates degree or higher.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in an administrative assistant position.
- Experience with sales and accounting preferred.
- Experience with foodservice preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be familiar with computers.
- Must be familiar with common software such as word processors, spreadsheets, and email clients.
- Must be familiar with using the Internet to search and find information.
- Must be able to learn our specific business operations to become proficient in day to day tasks.
- Must be courteous and respectful towards customers and vendors.
- Must be able to quickly and efficiently record information from customers while on the phone.
